SOAR X Mornington Chasers: REDs Panel Talk

Signs, Dangers and Strategies all Runners Should Know About

REDs is a condition which occurs when there is a long-term mismatch between our energy intake and the energy we expend through exercise and daily life processes. Over time, this can lead to a range of serious long-term effects on health.

While awareness of REDs is increasing, recognition at the recreational level still has a way to go and there are many misconceptions around the condition. Increasing numbers of people, regardless of age, gender and training level, are being affected, many of whom don’t even know it exists.

Join us at SOAR HQ, 107 Clifton St, London EC2A 4LG, from 18:45 on Wednesday 5 June, where we will be talking to Dr Nicky Keay (medical doctor and researcher), Alice Murray-Gourlay (dietician and sports nutritionist) and Jake Smith (professional runner) about REDs and what every amateur runner should know about it.
