What got you into running? And what keeps you doing it?
We did cross country running at school but that wasn’t much fun. I also did the Sunday Time Fun Runs they used to do, but really got into running after college, once i moved to London. Being able to clear my head and keep fit at the same time keeps me at it.
What is your typical weekly training routine?
I run 3 times a week, around 4k a run.
Do you run with a club or a group?
No just on my own.
Where’s the strangest place you’ve run?
Mmm good question… not exactly strange but was running along the coastal path from Port Quinn in Cornwall and lost track of where I was so took a short cut through Polzeath Bee Centre. Turns out you can’t outrun bees!
What song, if any, is guaranteed to make you run faster?
Don’t really listen to music but the sound of a swarm of bees probably made me run a sub 11 second 100m!
Is it just for the fun of it? Or for the results?
I guess for the fun of it, not driven on by times as such.
What is the best bit of advice you’ve had from another runner?
Keep working on your core strength.
What simple advice would you give to a new or novice runner?
Try and run on soft surfaces as much as possible
What is your favourite piece of SOAR kit?
The soft shell jacket for the chilly mornings for sure.
