What got you into running? And what keeps you doing it?
I guess I owe it all to a very good friend, who first suggested we run the New Forrest Half as something challenging and fun, that got me training. A place in the London Marathon in 2015 kept me going and now i'm officially hooked, better times, better form and more bling are my motivation. Not to mention how good it makes me feel.

What is your typical training routine?
It depends if I have a race coming up and what distance that is, but I recently learnt that strength is just as important as clocking up the milage.

Do you run with a club or a group?
No, I haven't found the confidence to do that yet!

Where's the strangest place you've run?
I run everywhere, I guess Abu Dhabi whilst training for last years Marathon was a unique experience, that heat is something I haven't experienced since.

What song, if any, is guaranteed to make you run faster?
Having tried running to music and without, I opt for without, preferring to keep my ears open for traffic and wildlife! But I appreciate the greatness of Beyoncé for any kind of workout.

Do you run for the fun of it? Or for the results?

What is the best bit of advice you've had from another runner?
Read Art of Running Faster - its the best advice I've received.

What simple advice would you give to a new or novice runner?
Don't worry about how far or how fast you go, just enjoy your surroundings. It took me about 6 months to realise that's the most important thing when starting out.

What is your favourite piece of SOAR kit?
The Rain Jacket in Dark Blue - I've been drenched too many times and a lightweight jacket is key for ease of transporting when you get too hot!
