What got you into running? And what keeps you doing it?
I got offered a place in the London Marathon when I started my first job after graduating from uni and fancied the challenge. Have just ended up pushing on from there. PB's (or trying to get them!) are what keeps my going - I've felt very few greater senses of accomplishment

What is your typical training routine?
First half of the year I normally build up to being out 6 days/60ish miles as I train for a spring marathon, mileage reduces after and then I try to start building up again ahead of a half in September - Ealing is a particular favourite. Being part of the soar 6 and having exposure to Matt is really reinforcing the importance of rest and recovery

Do you run with a club or a group?
I tend to run on my own, although I'm enjoying the comradeship that is coming from being part of the soar 6!

Where's the strangest place you've run?
I ran the Mont Blanc marathon a few years ago - although fields and hills/mountains aren't strange to some folk, it was a very different experience from pounding the roads in London!

What song, if any, is guaranteed to make you run faster?
Twin Atlantic - Heart & Soul. It's rocky, loud & Scottish with a great chorus

Do you run for the fun of it? Or for the results?

What is the best bit of advice you've had from another runner?
If you don't get the PB this time the hard work will pay off. And learn to rest and recover!

What simple advice would you give to a new or novice runner?
Start slowly, and be prepared to start planning your weekends around long runs!

What is your favourite piece of SOAR kit?
I was amazed by the technical quality of the light jackets and am really looking forward to getting to try a pair of the shorts out.
