A race vest engineered to manage heat at race pace.
As temperatures rise, running fast becomes harder. Increased body temperature can raise perceived effort, making the same pace progressively more demanding. Developed in ProtoLab, the Graphene Race Vest explores how the garment itself can help manage that thermal load.
A conductive graphene circuit is printed directly onto the fabric, designed to distribute heat away from the body’s core. The effect comes into its own in the 12–18°C conditions typical of spring and autumn racing, when even a small improvement in temperature management can matter at race intensity.
The graphene circuit also dictates the architecture of the vest. To maintain an uninterrupted conductive pathway, the body is cut from a single piece of fabric with just one centre seam at the rear and two shoulder seams to complete the form. Laser-cut armholes, neckline and hems remove further material and bulk, with only two small pieces of film required to finish the construction.
The result is an exceptionally minimal race vest, lighter even than our Race Vest, where material technology and construction work as one.
