This Green and Pleasant Land

Photographer and runner Jamie Shipston-Mourn accompanied father and daughter - Zohrab and Rehana - as they spent a mid-summer weekend running, exploring and camping in England’s Peak District. The series explores both the bond between people, and that between people and place, with running as a constant throughout.

"Sometimes you remember the whole world is made out of iron and nickel, and rock and dirt. And no matter how far away a person may be they are still running on the same rock, under the same sky seeking shade from the same sun as you."

"And then you feel less distant, consciously running together, traversing through the twigs in the mud under your shoe."

"Whilst Zohrab was on a brief visit to the UK, he and Rehana shared the experience of moving through the English countryside with no care for pace or place, just in the thrall of the moments in between."
